Bringing Down The HOUSE!

We started the project of taking down the house on Thurs the 16th, but like the rest of this project it was stalled after we took the first few swipes at the house.(don't even ask, just know that it was our stupid bank again). But Jason and I got to take our turns releasing our frustrations by taking over at the controls of the hoe.

So after a few days and most of my patients being used up we got to finish the project. Well, Gillespie got to finish it anyway. He did all the work on the demo and Graig drove the dump truck to haul it off. My boys have been so excited to see the house finally come down. They even got to sit in the track-hoe and ride in the dump truck. I am even more excited than ever to begin the house building process. It seems like things are starting to roll along. I can't express enough the thanks I have for all those in our family who have helped us out. We wouldn't be able to do any of this without the help of Jason Gillespie, Graig and my Dad & Mom, just to name a few. Keep checking the blog and I will put updates on the work as it progresses toward our new home.

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenk's lawn.I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children.I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden.I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived. A "Black Tie Affair"

Last Friday Night, April 17th,
our little "Shanny" grew up!

She went to Prom! Her prom date, Colton Anderson, was such a handsome young man and they seemed to have such a good time together. The day started early with breakfast and
the
n a day of fun at Boondocks.

Next it was time for Shannon to head of to Maureen Brown's to have her hair done. It looked so pretty. Then came the task of putting on her princess ballgown.

Bryn Leigh loved the dre
ss, she is such a GIRL, she kept playing with Shannon's skirt. The dress was exactly what Shannon wanted, her mom tried to convince her to go with another one, but Shannon knew what she wanted.

Shannon's date came to pick her up and they traveled in style.
T
hey took a limo with the others in their group,
Weston George & Kaitlyn Gowans and Weston Warr & Whitney Staker .
They went to the Melting Pot for dinner and then off to the dance.

Shannon and Colton danced the promanade,
(which they had practiced at
6:30am for months) the song was by
Michael
Buble' called Feeling Good.(sorry no pics of them dancing, they were too far away.)

After they danced the night away the group asked their limo driver to take them through the McDonalds drive-thru, which he did. Shannon seemed to have a great time. I hope she realized how special that night was and that she knows how beautiful she looked!

Meet The New KIDS!

Ever since we knew that we would be moving to Pine Canyon Trent has wanted a goat. (secretly I have wanted one too.) So I have bee searching and finally found some in Erda. I surprised the boys and took them to pick two out.
I had already seen them earlier in the week and saw one that I loved. I knew I could convince Easton to like whatever one I wanted and that was the case when we got there. I picked up the little brown one that I wanted and said to Easton "look she likes you", that was all it took. But Trent was a different story, he took plenty of time and observed all 30 some odd baby goats before making his decision. When all was said and done we ended up with the
se two new additions to our growing farm.

Nelly the black one (there was much debate over this name we threw around other names but this stuck)
and

Trixie, the brown one, she is tiny (Easton can't say Trixie so it comes out as Tritsy. He is so cute!) We have to bottle feed the babies for about two more weeks, it keeps me busy and hopefully will teach the boys a little care and responsibility.

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS MAN?

Jason R Jones, AKA Dad, Honey, Coach, Jonesy or just Jones.
We sure haven't! This time of year is especially hard on the Jones Fam because we NEVER see Dad. I didn't realize how hard this is for my kids until the other morning. I was helping Trent and Easton
get ready for school when Trent asked me if Dad was in bed. I told him no but he went in to make sure for himself.
When Trent came back to me he asked
"where is dad"
To that I replied "at work"
after a long pause, during which I could see the wheels turning in his head, he then said in the sweetest little 4yr old voice
 "but does he sleep there?"
I couldn't help but feel bad for my little boy. We try to go and watch Jason's games as much as possible, so he knows that we love and support him and so my kids remember what there dad looks like. But it is a little hard being a single
 mom all the time.
So if anyone reading this knows his whereabouts or sees him will you send him home to his little children and his loving wife.

Out with the old.....In with the new!!!!!!!!!!

We finally got our construction loan!
No this is not a late April fools joke. It's for real, I got the phone call today, after which I began to dance and scream and cry and almost pass out. I can't believe it has finally happened. I never thought this day would come, well not for a long time anyway.
As I was jumping up and down and screaming with joy Trent asked me what was wrong? I told him that we finally get to build the new house. He began to dance around and shout "I get to drive the tractor and crash down the house". He has been telling everyone that we are going to do it "Thursday" for weeks now. We are all so excited we can't stand it. Now the next step is to apply for our demo permit, while we wait for the building permit, and get that old house down. We will be hosting a window, door, light,(anything you want) breaking party. Details to follow!!!!! Hopefully if we push things along we can take the house down next weekend. Wish us luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MEMORY (mine isn't as good as it used to be.)

While our springtime fun is on hold because of all this snow(what's with the snow anyway!), I have had to become creative with my indoor activities. The boys are going stir crazy. I feel like we have exhausted all of our indoor fun for the year. We play wii (Easton plays way too much), I bake with the boys, we even made play dough. So this week we are all out of ideas. We did however find in the game closet an old classic that kept us all entertained for hours, Memory. While I played I began to realize that I was getting schooled by my 3&4 yr olds. Have I really lost that much brain power. I did give away a few matches in the beginning of the game, but after I realized they were kicking my butt I really tried. So at the end of our 1 1/2 hr long game the results are............1st place Trenton, 2nd Easton, and the loser at memory is mom.
